Tournament Rules
- 3-4 players per team
- Basket scored inside of the 3-point line is awarded one point
- Basket scored beyond the 3-point line is awarded two points
- Team must win by two points unless score hits the maximum points allowed per game
- Grades 4-6, first team to score 7 points wins – 9 point maximum
- All other age divisions, first team to score 9 points wins – 11 point maximum
- If a non-shooting foul occurs, team is awarded the ball up top
- If a shooting foul occurs, player is awarded a free throw (free throw is worth 1 point)
- On a missed basket, the defending team must take the ball beyond the 3-point line before they can score
- On a made basket or a non shooting foul, the ball is to be checked at the top of the key
- Once the ball is checked at the top of the key, the play is live and the player receiving the checked ball can pass, dribble or shoot
- If an offensive foul is called, the ball is turned over to the defensive team
- Coin flip at the beginning of each game to determine which team has first possession
- Each game will have a minimum of a 3-minute warm up prior to the start of their game
- Any team that is not present at the scheduled start time automatically forfeits
- If a team has an injury or a player missing and they have less than three players, they can choose to play as a team of 2
- One referee per game
- Tournament format and schedule of games will depend on the number of teams entered in each division
- A team can have a player younger than the age of the division, however, no players from older age groups may play in younger age groups
- All basketball violations will be called by the referee during the game (ie. Travelling, double dribble, 3 in the key, out of bounds, charging, blocking, holding, etc.)
- Any intentional or technical foul call will result in a free throw and possession for the opposing team
- No timeouts may be called during the game unless there is an injury that results in a temporary stop of play
- Any additional rules will be shared prior to the beginning of each game
